This morning, Charlottesville jumped in to the holiday spirit with the Toy Lift and Holiday Market, kicking off the Grand Illumination festivities.
Donations to the Toy Lift and shopping at the Holiday Market can be done from 9am – 4pm at the City Hall Plaza next to the Pavilion downtown.
From 5pm – 7pm, the Paramount Theater is offering Community Cares and Crafts, offering plenty of entertainment for your kiddos as you await the grand event!
Also downtown from 5pm – 7:30pm, stop and listen to the sounds of local music featuring:
The Virginia Consort Carolers
Live Arts Players
Mosaic Children’s Choir
Wilson School of Dance
and a few other surprises!
At 7:30pm, the big event takes place – The Grand Illumation – and the downtown tree is officially lit for the holiday season!
Looking for a little more? At 8pm, The Paramount will be offering a free screening of the movie “Elf”.
Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall is a hub for all things lively and fun, so if you have the time, we certainly recommend getting there early or staying late to enjoy all that the area has to offer!
